1. What is Windows Custom Settings?
Windows Custom Settings is a fake anti-spyware program, which is real computer security software look-alike, so it might be very confusing for inexperienced computer user. The program performs illusory computer scan generating a list of found threats in the end, just like any other anti-spyware or anti-virus program. Scan report generated by Windows Custom Settings cannot be trusted as it is inaccurate stating that a number of threats have been detected on the system, even if the machine was clean. In this way user is being tricked into purchasing fake license, which promises to remove found threats. Keep in mind that Windows Custom Settings is not able to remove any kind of real viruses or spyware, even after the license has been purchased. The program belongs to the same family as Windows Saviour Firewall, Windows Accidents Prevention, Windows Anticrashes Utility, Windows Troubles Solver, Windows Necessary Firewall, Windows Risks Preventions, Windows Firewall Unit, Windows Profile System, Windows Precautions Center, Windows Repairing System.
Windows Custom Settings can infect computers both - through fake online computer scanners and infected websites. The program pretends to be a part of Microsoft Security Essentials and alerts user about potential threats:
Users normal desktop will be disabled by Windows Custom Settings each time Windows are booted and will not allow to appear until computer scan is completed and program is turned off.
Those warnings that are generated by Windows Custom Settings are not true and are used only to scare user stating that his computer system is not secure, thus persuading him to buy commercial program version. Do not make any payments requested by this program. All threats detected by Windows Custom Settings are not real and should be disregarded. It is illegal anti-spyware software and is used to scare and deceive user. Use Windows Custom Settings removal guide instead.
