1. What is Digital Protection?
Digital Protection is a rogue anti-spyware program, which is not recommended for computer protection. The program is being pushed through misleading advertising and also uses deceptive computer scan reports to trick users into purchasing the product. Digital Protection is from the same family as User Protection.
Digital Protection is downloaded and installed by Trojans, which initially displays security alerts to mislead the user and make him believe that his computer is at risk. After user responds to any alert by clicking on it, Digital Protection will be silently installed on a computer without user knowledge or agreement. Digital Protection is configured to start automatically every time Windows starts.
Computer scanner run by Digital Protection is incompetent to perform reliable spyware, adware, and malware detections. Despite the lack of ability to check the system for threats, computer scan progress will still be displayed. After computer check has been finished Digital Protection will create scan report where legitimate Windows objects will be considered as dangerous and the presence of non-existent threats will be demonstrated. Exaggerated reports like this cause user a lot of doubts and leads him to believe that the computer system is compromised and Digital Protection can serve as a virus/spyware removal tool. To remove supposed threats, user will have to pay in order to obtain program license. Do not make any payments, because rogue anti-spyware programs are helpless in removing viruses that are posing real risks to computer and furthermore do not protect it.

Fake Security Center will advertise Digital Protection as anti-spyware tool, where originally information about Firewall, Virus Protection and Automatic Updates should be displayed.

3. How to remove Digital Protection:
- Internet connection might be disabled or Internet browser might be blocked by Digital Protection, so it won't be possible to download any files to infected computer. In this case please download all files required for Digital Protection removal to another computer and then transfer them on the infected one using CD/DVD or USB flash drive.
- To remove Digital Protection download Spyware Doctor and install the program (for the installation guide click here). Before installation, make sure all other programs and windows are closed.

After the installation, computer scan should be started automatically. If so, please move to the next step. If not, click "Status" on the left side menu and press "Scan Now" button to run computer scanner as shown in the picture below:

After the scan has been completed and scan results have been generated, press "Fix Checked" button to remove Digital Protection.
- Restart the computer to complete Digital Protection removal procedure.
